In my younger days I was a ski racer and judo player. After multiple shoulder dislocations playing judo I had an operation followed by physical therapy and massage. The massage helped enormously and I began studying on my own, eventually going back to school at Healing Hands Institute of Massage Therapy in Westwood, NJ and graduating in 1997.
I began practicing immediately, gravitating to sports massage and specific injury massage utilizing deep tissue, sports massage and acupressure. The acupressure was working so well that it spurred my desire to return to school to study Acupuncture at the Eastern School of Acupuncture in Montclair, NJ from where I graduated in 2008.
During that time I also began to study the Myoskeletal Alignment Technique with Dr. Eric Dalton the founder and became certified on 2009. Much of this knowledge is intergrated into my acupuncture practice. Additionally, while in school I began to appreciate how acupuncture is used to help with any other condition one might experience in the body and it’s magic began to open for me.
In 2011 I joined the Faculty at the Eastern School of Acupuncture teaching Anatomy and Physiology along with Practice Management. I left in 2013 to pursue a 14 month long certificate program in Sports Medicine Acupuncture with Matt Callison and completed it in 2014. Since then I have acted as a teaching assistant for the program on various occasions and taught Treatment of Orthopedic Disorders, an introductory version of the certificate program, during the summer semester 2018 at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC.
